About Tom

Sen. Tom Sullivan is a U.S. Air Force veteran and retired United States Postal Service worker from Centennial running for reelection to the Colorado Senate in November. In 2018, Tom became the first Democrat elected to represent his district in the Colorado House, where he served two terms before being elected to the state Senate. Now, Tom works tirelessly for affordable housing and education funding, gun violence prevention, support for veterans, and expanding access to health care, and if he wins reelection, he’s ready to keep up the fight in Denver.

Tom is well-positioned, with the backing of the DLCC, to defend his district and help Democrats gain the one seat they need to establish a supermajority in the Colorado Senate.

Colorado

2026 is a historic opportunity to build Democratic power in Colorado and establish a supermajority in both chambers of the state legislature.

Colorado Democrats won a trifecta in 2018 when they flipped the state Senate blue and have since made impressive strides in improving the state’s quality of life, including legislation to expand access to affordable housing and health care, protect the environment, strengthen public education, and support working families.

This year, Democrats need to gain three seats in the Colorado House and just one in the Senate to establish a supermajority in each chamber. This would allow constitutional amendments to be placed on the ballot without Republican support – a huge step for democracy on issues such as voting rights and reproductive freedom.

The DLCC is all in to support candidates in the most competitive battleground districts in Colorado, candidates where national grassroots support could give them the edge they need to win tough races and expand Democratic power in Colorado.
