About Stephanie

Stephanie Vigil is a former state representative running this fall to flip a seat in the Colorado House. While previously serving her in the Colorado House, Stephanie took on big fights, stood up to corporate lobbyists, and won, passing bold legislation to strengthen worker protections, safeguard our environment, and promote more affordable housing and transportation. This year, Stephanie is running again to answer the call for leaders who understand their constituents’ struggles and will fight for them every day in Denver.

Stephanie was elected to represent District 16 in 2022, but came just 3 votes shy of reelection in 2024 despite running a very strong campaign. Now, she’s back with the support of the DLCC to retake this seat and help Democrats expand their majority in the Colorado House.

Colorado

2026 is a historic opportunity to build Democratic power in Colorado and establish a supermajority in both chambers of the state legislature.

Colorado Democrats won a trifecta in 2018 when they flipped the state Senate blue and have since made impressive strides in improving the state’s quality of life, including legislation to expand access to affordable housing and health care, protect the environment, strengthen public education, and support working families.

This year, Democrats need to gain three seats in the Colorado House and just one in the Senate to establish a supermajority in each chamber. This would allow constitutional amendments to be placed on the ballot without Republican support – a huge step for democracy on issues such as voting rights and reproductive freedom.

The DLCC is all in to support candidates in the most competitive battleground districts in Colorado, candidates where national grassroots support could give them the edge they need to win tough races and expand Democratic power in Colorado.
