Target Race Launch: DLCC Announces Slate of Targets in Colorado

Since flipping blue, Democrats have delivered an ambitious agenda for Coloradans

WASHINGTON—Today, the DLCC announced 13 Target Races in Colorado that will solidify Democratic power in the state legislature to unlock further progress for Coloradans. In 2018, the DLCC helped flip the Colorado Senate blue and showed the nation what a Democratic trifecta can accomplish. Colorado Democrats served as a firewall against an out-of-control Trump administration, protected their constituents’ fundamental freedoms like the right to an abortion, and acted on gun safety legislation – all while building a fairer economy for Coloradans. These Target Races will ensure Democrats in the state keep delivering for their constituents.

The DLCC is working directly with the Colorado House and Senate caucuses and Target Race candidates to deliver support and resources for data, research, polling, paid communication, and direct voter contact. 2026 is a historic opportunity to shift the balance of power across the country and expand Democratic power in Colorado. With less than 100 days until Election Day, the DLCC has the Target Map and strategy to meet this moment.

We are prepared to capitalize on this once-in-a-generation opportunity to expand Democratic power across the map and get this  group of strong candidates across the finish line in November.”
