The Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee (DLCC) is the official Democratic Party committee dedicated to winning the fight for America’s state legislatures.
About Katie
Rep. Katie Stewart is a former EMT and fourth-generation Durangoan running for reelection to the Colorado House in November. As a legislator, Katie has proven herself to be a fierce advocate for Colorado’s rural communities. She’s ready to champion legislation to strengthen public schools, protect natural resources, and address the affordability crisis impacting working families across Colorado.
In 2024, Katie won a tightly contested race to represent District 59, and now, with the support of the DLCC’s Target Races program, she’s ready to defend her seat and help Democrats build a supermajority in the Colorado House.
Colorado
2026 is a historic opportunity to build Democratic power in Colorado and establish a supermajority in both chambers of the state legislature.
Colorado Democrats won a trifecta in 2018 when they flipped the state Senate blue and have since made impressive strides in improving the state’s quality of life, including legislation to expand access to affordable housing and health care, protect the environment, strengthen public education, and support working families.
This year, Democrats need to gain three seats in the Colorado House and just one in the Senate to establish a supermajority in each chamber. This would allow constitutional amendments to be placed on the ballot without Republican support – a huge step for democracy on issues such as voting rights and reproductive freedom.
The DLCC is all in to support candidates in the most competitive battleground districts in Colorado, candidates where national grassroots support could give them the edge they need to win tough races and expand Democratic power in Colorado.
