About Sara
Sara Agerton is a former social worker, health care administrator, and Mechanicsburg Borough Council member running to flip a seat in the Pennsylvania House this fall. The daughter of a welder, Sara was raised to value community and hard work, leading her to pursue a career in social work. Now she’s ready to stand up and fight for working families on issues such as access to affordable health care and housing, improving public education, and lowering the cost of living.
Sara ran strong campaigns as a DLCC Target Race candidate in 2022 and 2024, coming closer to unseating House District 88’s deeply entrenched GOP incumbent than anyone has in over a decade. The positive environment in 2026 is the perfect opportunity to finish the job, and Sara is in a better position than ever to help Democrats expand their majority in the Pennsylvania House.
Pennsylvania
2026 is a historic opportunity to build power in Pennsylvania by defending our House majority and picking up seats in the Senate.
In 2022, Democrats made gains in the Pennsylvania Senate and flipped the House for the first time in over a decade. The momentum from those wins continued to build through 2025 with a string of special election victories defending a narrow blue majority in the state House, and an astounding upset win in the state Senate that saw Democrats flip a district that supported Trump by a double-digit margin in the 2024 presidential election.Â
The DLCC has been on the ground in Pennsylvania cycle after cycle to support state Democrats as we build power in both chambers of the General Assembly.
Pennsylvania remains a true battleground in 2026, and the DLCC and our allies are pulling out all the stops to win competitive races and elect Democrats in the Keystone State.
