About Robert

Rep. Robert Matzie is a long-time public servant and former Ambridge mayor running for reelection to the Pennsylvania House this November. In his time as a state representative, Robert has been a dedicated advocate for the people, fighting for everything from the preservation of historic forests to the establishment of relief funds during the COVID-19 pandemic to economic relief for working families. Robert is proud to be part of the House’s hard-won Democratic majority and is excited to keep serving his community in a way that balances the needs of every constituent.

Robert has represented his district since 2008. Now, with all 203 seats in the Pennsylvania House on the ballot, he’s ready to help state Democrats protect and expand their majority in the chamber.

Pennsylvania

2026 is a historic opportunity to build power in Pennsylvania by defending our House majority and picking up Senate seats in this key battleground state. After several cycles of hard-fought gains, DLCC is committed to winning and defending Democratic power in Pennsylvania.

Our work this year begins with defending and expanding our majority in the Pennsylvania House, which the DLCC and state Democrats flipped in 2022 and have defended ever since..

We’re also working to gain ground in the Senate, where half of the seats are on the ballot this year. With the legislature under split control, the Pennsylvania Senate GOP majority has rubber-stamped Trump’s disastrous agenda and blocked Democrats from advancing solutions for working families at every opportunity.
