Sara Fuchs

Sara Fuchs, who served as Chief of Staff for Democratic Rep. Betsy Holland for six years, is running to flip a seat in the Georgia House this fall. Sara’s work in the Georgia state House has given her a deep understanding of what the legislative process looks like. Sara has also seen countless pieces of legislation critical to uplifting working families blocked by partisan politics. Sara is ready to put her experience to work to bring results for her district. If elected, she will champion fully funded public schools, access to affordable health care, common-sense gun safety measures, and the personal freedoms of all Georgians.

Sara, with the DLCC’s support, is ready for a highly competitive race to unseat a 23-year incumbent and help Democrats gain ground in the Georgia House.

2026 is a historic opportunity for Democrats to pick up seats in Georgia and build momentum for future majorities.

Georgia has seen two decades of GOP control, but continued efforts from the DLCC and Georgia Democrats have led to victories in both chambers of the Georgia legislature, steadily chipping away at the state’s red majorities.

Over the last several cycles, the DLCC has helped Georgia Democrats make gains in both chambers of the legislature, including 20 seats in the state House since Trump’s first election.

In 2026, building Democratic power in Georgia is more important than ever. A competitive gubernatorial race this year could result in another GOP trifecta, meaning Democrats in the Georgia legislature would remain as the only line of defense against an extreme MAGA agenda.
