Dr. Michelle Schreiner

Dr. Michelle Schreiner is a Ph.D. psychologist and research leader running this fall to flip Georgia House District 45 blue. Michelle and her husband are raising their twins in East Cobb, surrounded by many of the same schools, neighborhoods, and opportunities that helped shape her. Michelle is running because she believes her community deserves thoughtful, effective leadership focused on the issues that make a real difference in people’s lives. If elected, Michelle will fight for strong public schools, affordable health care, safe and thriving communities, responsible growth, and an economy where working families can build a good life.

Michelle is stepping up to run in what could be one of Georgia’s most competitive elections of the year. With the DLCC’s support, she has an excellent chance of flipping this seat and helping Democrats gain ground in the Georgia House.

2026 is a historic opportunity for Democrats to pick up seats in Georgia and build momentum for future majorities.

Georgia has seen two decades of GOP control, but continued efforts from the DLCC and Georgia Democrats have led to victories in both chambers of the Georgia legislature, steadily chipping away at the state’s red majorities.

Over the last several cycles, the DLCC has helped Georgia Democrats make gains in both chambers of the legislature, including 20 seats in the state House since Trump’s first election.

In 2026, building Democratic power in Georgia is more important than ever. A competitive gubernatorial race this year could result in another GOP trifecta, meaning Democrats in the Georgia legislature would remain as the only line of defense against an extreme MAGA agenda.
