About Lindsay

Lindsay Polega-Quigley is a lawyer from Pinellas County running this fall to defend a Democratic-held seat in the Florida House. Like her grandfather before her, Lindsay worked many jobs to put herself through school, eventually becoming a lawyer to fight for justice. She’s seen firsthand as insurance companies deny legitimate claims to homeowners, and is running to hold powerful interests accountable and ensure regular Floridians have a seat at the table in Tallahassee.

With District 60’s current Democratic representative retiring from the state legislature, Lindsay is stepping up with the DLCC’s support to protect this key district and help break the Republican supermajority in the Florida House.

Florida

2026 is a historic opportunity to build Democratic power in Florida and break toxic supermajorities in both the state House and Senate.

Across both chambers, Democrats only need to flip 9 seats to end the GOP supermajorities, block veto overrides, and check the reckless adoption of Trump’s extremist policies at the state level. Florida Republicans have turned a blind eye to the affordability crisis, cut Medicaid access for seniors, and demolished economic opportunity for Floridians.

The DLCC has been on the ground working with Florida Democrats to win key races, recruit competitive candidates, and identify the districts where nationwide grassroots support will have the most impact in 2026. Since 2020, we’ve highlighted 47 Florida state legislative candidates in our Target Races program, including Emily Gregory, who won a stunning special election victory in March to represent HD-87, flipping the district that includes Mar-a-Lago.

Progress is possible in Florida, but we have to keep up the momentum. We cannot afford to miss this moment to put Florida Democrats on the strongest trajectory to build back power after almost 30 years of one-party rule. The DLCC is all hands on deck to support Florida Democrats committed to building a brighter future for the Sunshine State.
