About Kevin
Rep. Kevin Chambliss is a dedicated public servant running for reelection to the Florida House this fall. In 2010, Kevin began his political career as a congressional campaign field organizer and has since worked as a community liaison for various elected officials. His experience taught him how to connect with constituents and work to meet their needs. As a legislator, Kevin works to ensure access to quality public schools, health care, and a lower cost of living, and if he is reelected, he’s committed to continue championing Florida’s working families.
Kevin was first elected to represent District 117 in 2020 and has defended the highly competitive seat in every election since. This year, he’s ready for a tight race to protect this must-win battleground seat and help break the GOP supermajority in the Florida House.
Florida
2026 is a historic opportunity to build Democratic power in Florida and break toxic supermajorities in both the state House and Senate.
Across both chambers, Democrats only need to flip 9 seats to end the GOP supermajorities, block veto overrides, and check the reckless adoption of Trump’s extremist policies at the state level. Florida Republicans have turned a blind eye to the affordability crisis, cut Medicaid access for seniors, and demolished economic opportunity for Floridians.
The DLCC has been on the ground working with Florida Democrats to win key races, recruit competitive candidates, and identify the districts where nationwide grassroots support will have the most impact in 2026. Since 2020, we’ve highlighted 47 Florida state legislative candidates in our Target Races program, including Emily Gregory, who won a stunning special election victory in March to represent HD-87, flipping the district that includes Mar-a-Lago.
Progress is possible in Florida, but we have to keep up the momentum. We cannot afford to miss this moment to put Florida Democrats on the strongest trajectory to build back power after almost 30 years of one-party rule. The DLCC is all hands on deck to support Florida Democrats committed to building a brighter future for the Sunshine State.
