About Emily
Rep. Emily Gregory is a small business owner from Jupiter who pulled off a stunning upset victory to flip her district blue and is running for reelection this fall to serve a full term in the Florida House. Emily stepped up to challenge MAGA extremism and help usher in a brighter future for her state, and her special election win helped to chip away at the GOP supermajority in the Florida House. Emily has fought for her community in the legislature while working to bring down the cost of living, and if she wins reelection in November, she will continue to work to uplift Florida’s working families.
Emily successfully flipped this district, which includes Mar-a-Lago, in a March special election. Now, she’s running another strong campaign with the support of the DLCC to protect this important foothold for Democrats in the Florida House.
Florida
Republicans currently hold supermajorities in both chambers of the Florida legislature and have used their power to rubber-stamp Trump’s disastrous agenda. Both the Florida House and Senate are on the DLCC’s 2026 Target Map, and capitalizing on these opportunities to grow Democratic power is essential.
Since 2020, the DLCC has named 47 Florida candidates to our Target Races program to seize the best opportunities to defend and flip important seats and push back against rampant right-wing extremism. In the last year, state Democrats have competed in multiple special elections across Florida to bring the fight to Republicans.
In the 2026 midterms, Democrats need a gain of 8 seats in the Florida House and 3 in the Senate to break the Republican supermajorities. With a historic opportunity in 2026 to make significant gains in state legislatures all across the country, we cannot afford to miss the chance in Florida.
