About Gloria

Gloria Romero Roses is a small business owner, civic leader, and Colombian-American from Miami running to flip a seat in the Florida House this fall. Gloria built a career in real estate, where she uses her position and expertise to advocate for affordable housing and community development. Gloria approaches every challenge with data, fairness, and a commitment to real-world results, and she believes every Floridian deserves a fair shot on a level playing field. If she wins, Gloria will fight for a lower cost of living, access to affordable housing and child care, support for seniors, and policies that benefit working families.

District 113 is one of the most contested battlegrounds in Florida this year, and Gloria is ready for a competitive race that will have lasting effects on the state. Her victory could mean breaking the GOP supermajority in the Florida House, and the DLCC is all in on supporting her campaign.

Florida

2026 is a historic opportunity to build Democratic power in Florida and break toxic supermajorities in both the state House and Senate.

Across both chambers, Democrats only need to flip 9 seats to end the GOP supermajorities, block veto overrides, and check the reckless adoption of Trump’s extremist policies at the state level. Florida Republicans have turned a blind eye to the affordability crisis, cut Medicaid access for seniors, and demolished economic opportunity for Floridians.

The DLCC has been on the ground working with Florida Democrats to win key races, recruit competitive candidates, and identify the districts where nationwide grassroots support will have the most impact in 2026. Since 2020, we’ve highlighted 47 Florida state legislative candidates in our Target Races program, including Emily Gregory, who won a stunning special election victory in March to represent HD-87, flipping the district that includes Mar-a-Lago.

Progress is possible in Florida, but we have to keep up the momentum. We cannot afford to miss this moment to put Florida Democrats on the strongest trajectory to build back power after almost 30 years of one-party rule. The DLCC is all hands on deck to support Florida Democrats committed to building a brighter future for the Sunshine State.
