About Eric

Rev. Eric Wendel Lee, Sr. is a pastor and community advocate from the Atlanta area running to flip a seat in the Georgia Senate this fall. Eric has dedicated his life to serving others and has helped build his congregation into a multi-generational institution that provides education, outreach, and critical services to families throughout the region. Throughout his career, Eric has worked in workforce development, advocated for children and families, and partnered with local governments and organizations to strengthen communities across metro Atlanta. If he is elected, he will continue to champion Georgia’s working families by supporting public education, economic opportunity for all, increased affordability, and access to health care.

District 42 will be one of the most contested battlegrounds in Georgia this year, and Eric is ready, with the support of the DLCC, to win his race and establish a new Democratic foothold in the Georgia Senate.

Georgia

2026 is a historic opportunity for Democrats to pick up seats in Georgia and build momentum for future majorities.

Georgia has seen unified Republican control of the governor’s office and legislature since 2005, but continued efforts from the DLCC and Georgia Democrats have led to victories in both chambers of the Georgia legislature, steadily chipping away at the state’s red majorities.

Over the last several cycles, the DLCC has helped Georgia Democrats make gains in both chambers of the legislature, including nearly 20 seats in the state House over the past decade.

In 2026, building Democratic power in Georgia is more important than ever. A competitive gubernatorial race this year could result in another GOP governor, meaning Democrats in the Georgia legislature would remain as the only line of defense against an extreme MAGA agenda.
