After two decades of GOP control, 2026 is a historic opportunity to pick up seats in the Georgia General Assembly and build for future majorities. With the support of the DLCC, Georgia Democrats have made gains in the House five elections in a row, picking up nearly 20 seats in total and building momentum as Democrats increasingly run competitive, winning statewide races.

Overcoming Republican Gerrymandering 

GOP majorities in both chambers have rubber-stamped Trump’s disastrous agenda and made the state ground zero for the spread of election misinformation and attacks on voting rights– including calling special sessions of the legislature to redistrict and gerrymander the maps in Georgia to try to cling to power.

Meet the DLCC’s Georgia Target Races

To continue building power, the DLCC has designated a slate of Target Race candidates in Georgia running in some of the state’s most competitive and consequential districts. These candidates represent critical opportunities to gain seats, strengthen the Democratic base for elections ahead, and lay the groundwork for future majorities.
