Charlotte Little

Rep. Charlotte Little is a former Administrative Officer with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services from San Felipe Pueblo running for reelection to the New Mexico House this fall. Charlotte’s family has experienced profound tragedy, losing one brother to a drunk driver and another to gun violence, and those experiences deeply inform her commitment to public safety and accountability. As a legislator, Charlotte fights tirelessly to expand access to health care, create safer communities, and advocate for New Mexico’s most vulnerable residents.

Charlotte was first elected to represent her district in 2022 by a razor-thin 35 votes. Now, she’s ready, with the support of the DLCC, to win what promises to be another very competitive race and help Democrats build a stronger majority in the New Mexico House.

2026 is a historic opportunity to build Democratic power in New Mexico and establish a Democratic supermajority in the New Mexico House.

New Mexico’s Democratic trifecta has shown the nation what is possible under bold leadership. In 2025, New Mexico became the first state to pass universal childcare, a landmark policy that will save the average family $12,000 per child a year. Democrats also stepped up and protected health care for New Mexicans after Republicans in Congress slashed Medicaid funding.

New Mexico has been on the DLCC’s Target Map in recent cycles. Despite a windfall of GOP spending totaling over $13M in 2022, state Democrats maintained their majority and protected it in 2024. In partnership with DLCC Board Member and New Mexico Speaker of the House Javier Martínez, we’ve built durable power and are on the cusp of creating the strongest Democratic majority in 30 years.

With only three additional seats needed to build a Democratic supermajority in the New Mexico House, 2026 is a critical year to rally behind candidates running in the most competitive races across the state.
