About Sherry

Sherry Berecz is a lifelong resident of the Downriver area, serving as Brownstown Township Supervisor and running this fall to flip a seat in the Michigan House. Sherry has served her community for more than 25 years as Township Clerk, Trustee, and now Supervisor. In each role, Sherry has focused on protecting taxpayer dollars, strengthening local services, and supporting working families. Now, she’s ready to broaden her impact by serving in the legislature, where she is committed to fighting for Michigan’s future.

District 28 is one of the most competitive in Michigan, and Sherry is ready, with the DLCC’s backing, to flip this seat and help Democrats grow their power in the Michigan House.

Michigan

Michigan is one of the most critical battlegrounds in the country.

In 2022, Michigan Democrats flipped both chambers of the state legislature for the first time in over a decade, delivering a Democratic trifecta and passing historic legislation that improved the lives of working families across the state.

In 2024, Republicans narrowly retook the Michigan House — but with Democrats remaining as the majority in the state Senate, the path to a trifecta is within reach in 2026.

With a one-seat Democratic majority in the Senate and a clear path to reclaim the House, strategic investment in these races will determine whether Democrats can restore full control and continue delivering results for Michiganders.
