About Chip

Sen. Chip Curry is a lifelong public servant, educator, and union member from Waldo County running for reelection to the Maine Senate in November. Throughout his career, Chip has worked to help Mainers of all ages reach their potential, from teaching outdoor leadership and civic engagement at Unity College to leading statewide efforts to reduce child poverty and helping adult students earn credentials for good-paying jobs. Now serving in the Maine Senate, Chip chairs the Housing and Economic Development Committee and remains deeply involved in his community as a volunteer and local board member.

Chip has represented his district in the Maine Senate since 2020. This year, with the help of the DLCC’s Target Races program, he’s ready to step up once again to help defend and expand the state Senate’s Democratic majority.

Maine

2026 is a historic opportunity to protect and expand the Democratic majorities in the Maine House and Senate.

Democrats have held a majority in the Maine Senate since 2018 and in the House since 2012, when the DLCC helped gain 15 seats to flip the chamber. Despite a tough year for Democrats nationwide in 2024, our work in Maine helped ensure the state legislature stayed blue. Since then, Democrats have built momentum with a pair of impressive special election wins, and this November, we aren’t taking a single hard-won district for granted as we approach a tightly contested midterm.

The DLCC has been on the ground in Maine cycle after cycle, supporting state Democrats as we work to defend and expand our majorities in both chambers of the legislature.

We cannot take our Democratic majorities in Maine for granted, and 2026 is a critical year to win competitive races and ensure the state stays on a path of progress for years to come.
