Georgia is on the DLCC’s 2026 Target Map.

After two decades of GOP control, 2026 is a historic opportunity to pick up seats in Georgia and build for future majorities. Over the last several cycles, DLCC has helped Georgia Democrats win many key races and make gains that weaken the GOP’s majorities.

Democrats have made gains in the Georgia House for 5 consecutive cycles and we’re ready to do it again.

GOP majorities in both chambers have rubber-stamped Trump’s disastrous agenda and made the state ground zero for the spread of election misinformation and attacks on voting rights – the stakes couldn’t be higher to capitalize on the historic opportunity to make gains in both chambers. In the face of an aggressive gerrymander, Georgia Democrats will continue to fight to make progress to lower costs and expand opportunities for working families.

When the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in June 2022, they didn’t just eviscerate federal protections for abortion access – they opened the door to completely undermining a number of our most personal rights and freedoms that were constructed on the same legal precedent as Roe. Now Republican state lawmakers have been emboldened in their attempts to chip away our rights to birth control, same-sex relationships, and marriage equality, solidifying state legislatures as the frontline in the fight for Americans’ freedoms.
