About Ryan

Ryan Hampton is a nonprofit founder, small business owner, and community advocate running this fall to defend a seat in the Nevada Assembly. Raised by working class parents who were both union members, Ryan is a champion for labor rights and working families. His upbringing, combined with his experience overcoming addiction after a hiking injury, has given Ryan a unique perspective on the challenges Nevadans face every day. He’s ready to fight to ensure his constituents have access to life-saving health care, quality public schools, and the economic opportunities to raise a thriving family in Nevada.

Ryan is running with the support of the DLCC Target Races program and DLCC board member and Speaker of the Nevada Assembly Steve Yeager, who has represented District 9 since flipping it in 2016. If elected, Ryan is ready to carry on Speaker Yeager’s legacy and help Democrats build a supermajority in the Nevada Assembly.

Nevada

2026 is a historic opportunity to build Democratic power in Nevada and establish a blue supermajority in the state Assembly.

Since flipping both chambers of the Nevada legislature in 2016, Democratic leadership has brought sweeping progress to the state, including universal free school meals for students, minimum wage increases, and civil rights protections for women and LGBTQ+ Nevadans.

The DLCC has been on the ground in Nevada cycle after cycle, supporting candidates in the most competitive races to protect Democratic majorities in the state Senate and Assembly.

This year, Democrats in the Nevada Assembly need to gain just one seat to secure a supermajority, bringing them closer to passing key legislation even if a Republican governor attempts to veto it.

With so much work still needed to ensure a bright future for the state, we can’t afford to lose an inch of ground to Republican extremism in Nevada.
