About Paul

Rep. Paul Takac is a retired account executive from Happy Valley running to defend his seat in the Pennsylvania House this fall. Paul’s upbringing in a working-class, union family still informs his priorities as a state representative. He’s committed to passing legislation that uplifts working families, like access to quality public education, fair wages, and encouraging sustainable economic growth.

In 2022, Paul won his district with the support of the DLCC’s Target Races program, helping Democrats win a majority in the Pennsylvania House, and defended the seat again in 2024. Winning Paul’s race this year is critical to protect and expand Democratic power in Pennsylvania.

Pennsylvania

2026 is a historic opportunity to build power in Pennsylvania by defending our House majority and picking up seats in the Senate.

In 2022, Democrats made gains in the Pennsylvania Senate and flipped the House for the first time in over a decade. The momentum from those wins continued to build through 2025 with a string of special election victories defending a narrow blue majority in the state House, and an astounding upset win in the state Senate that saw Democrats flip a district that supported Trump by a double-digit margin in the 2024 presidential election.

The DLCC has been on the ground in Pennsylvania cycle after cycle to support state Democrats as we build power in both chambers of the General Assembly.

Pennsylvania remains a true battleground in 2026, and the DLCC and our allies are pulling out all the stops to win competitive races and elect Democrats in the Keystone State.
