Battleground State
After over a decade of Republican control, 2026 is a historic opportunity to flip the Wisconsin legislature from red to blue. Competing on fair maps for the first time in over a decade in the 2024 election, Democrats gained 10 Assembly seats and 4 Senate seats, putting the majority in both chambers within striking distance this cycle.
Both the Wisconsin Assembly and Senate are on the DLCC’s target map, and capitalizing on these opportunities is essential. GOP majorities in both chambers have rubber-stamped Trump’s disastrous agenda and attacked voting rights – the stakes couldn’t be higher to capitalize on the historic opportunity to flip control of the legislature for the first time in over a decade.
The DLCC will be targeting competitive races across the state and sharing more info on DLCC Target Races in Wisconsin soon.

Wisconsin Assembly Democratic Leader and DLCC Board Member Greta Neubauer
Wisconsin Supreme COurt
DLCC Board Member
Leader Greta Neubauer doesn’t back down from a fight– she’s a former climate organizer, the first openly queer Democratic leader in Wisconsin, and one of the youngest chamber leaders in the country. In 2024, she led the Wisconsin Assembly in making ground-breaking gains on new maps after more than a decade of the GOP’s gerrymandered control. In an incredibly competitive battleground state, Neubauer is on the ground connecting with voters and delivering on their top issues. As the next generation of Democratic leadership rises, Neubauer will continue to be a force to be reckoned with.
Leader Neubauer was first elected to the DLCC Board in 2025.
