Wisconsin Court of Appeals Judge Chris Taylor won a massive victory in a special election race for the Wisconsin Supreme Court in April. Chris is a former Wisconsin State Assemblymember who has dedicated her career to protecting the rights of all people. Now, Chris will bring that same dedication to Wisconsin’s highest court and strengthen the pro-freedom, pro-democracy majority.

Judge Taylor won the latest open seat on the Wisconsin Supreme Court with support from the DLCC and allies on the ground to secure this important race.

The balance of the Wisconsin Supreme Court has seen a dramatic shift over the past several years. After 15 years of a conservative majority, several high-stakes elections have reset the balance of power on the state’s highest court.

Following massive victories in both 2023 and 2025, the court now has a liberal majority that is working to uphold the state’s laws in a fair and impartial way. In 2026, another court election gives us an opportunity to flip a seat and further secure the majority through at least 2030.
