The Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee (DLCC) is the official Democratic Party committee dedicated to winning the fight for America’s state legislatures.
About Sean
Rep. Sean Patrick Brennan is a former educator and Parma City Council President running for reelection to the Ohio House. Sean spent 30 years teaching American Government to middle and high school students and brings a public educator’s strong working-class perspective to the state legislature. He has a bipartisan record of working across the aisle to advance commonsense solutions, and if he wins his race this November, Sean will continue to focus on strengthening schools, supporting families, and protecting core public services.
In 2022, Sean won a decisive victory as a DLCC Target Race candidate for the Ohio House and again in 2024. Defending this seat is critical as we strive to expand Democratic power in the chamber.
Ohio
After over 15 years of Republican trifecta control of the Ohio state government, 2026 is a historic opportunity to build Democratic power in the General Assembly and break the long-standing GOP supermajority in the Ohio House.
The DLCC has worked with state allies in Ohio to identify legislative districts with vulnerable Republican incumbents, key blue seats to protect, and Democratic candidates most likely to win in highly competitive races across the state.
Ohio Democrats need a gain of just six seats in the state House to break a Republican supermajority that has obstructed progress for over a decade and rubber-stamped disastrous MAGA policies that have eroded personal freedoms, disenfranchised voters, and driven up the cost of living for all Ohioans.
This year, Democrats are running in ninety-seven of ninety-nine state House districts in Ohio. Now is the time to rally behind Democratic candidates who are ready to bring the fight to Republicans and challenge their grip on power in the Buckeye State.
