About Rose
Rose Lounsbury is a former public school teacher and business owner from Dayton running this fall to flip a seat in the Ohio House. She has a clear vision for Ohio’s future that includes strong public education, fair elections, and access to life’s necessities without breaking the bank. If she is elected, Rose is ready to fight back against the Republicans, end school vouchers, and help uplift Ohio’s working families.  Â
Rose first ran in 2024 to represent House District 36, coming extremely close to unseating a Republican incumbent. Now she’s coming back stronger than ever with the support of the DLCC’s Target Races program to flip this seat and expand Democratic power in the Ohio House.
Ohio
After over 15 years of Republican trifecta control of the Ohio state government, 2026 is a historic opportunity to build Democratic power in the General Assembly and break the long-standing GOP supermajority in the Ohio House.
The DLCC has worked with state allies in Ohio to identify legislative districts with vulnerable Republican incumbents, key blue seats to protect, and Democratic candidates most likely to win in highly competitive races across the state.Â
Ohio Democrats need a gain of just six seats in the state House to break a Republican supermajority that has obstructed progress for over a decade and rubber-stamped disastrous MAGA policies that have eroded personal freedoms, disenfranchised voters, and driven up the cost of living for all Ohioans.
This year, Democrats are running in ninety-seven of ninety-nine state House districts in Ohio. Now is the time to rally behind Democratic candidates who are ready to bring the fight to Republicans and challenge their grip on power in the Buckeye State.
