Republicans currently control the Oklahoma Legislature, but that hasn’t stopped state Democrats from fighting on behalf of their communities. As the campaign arm for more than 3,000 state legislators and thousands of candidates across all 50 states, the DLCC is providing the roadmap for building Democratic power across red, blue, and purple states in 2026 and beyond, including in Oklahoma.
The DLCC is partnering with state Democrats to build power in Oklahoma in this once-in-a-generation election environment.
The DLCC is announcing four Target Races to build Democratic power in the Oklahoma House. This slate of candidates are the ones that matter most to advance the DLCC’s strategy of flipping Republican seats and growing Democratic representation for families across the Sooner State.

In June 2025, DLCC Target Race candidate Amanda Clinton pulled off a huge win in Oklahoma 71st House District, defending a critical seat for Democrats with nearly 70 percent of the vote.

Serving for over a decade in the Oklahoma House, Leader Cyndi Munson knows what it takes to fight for her constituents and make progress for the people in a red chamber. She made history when she flipped her seat blue in 2015 – becoming the first Asian-American to serve in the state legislature – before being elected Democratic leader of the chamber in 2022. While in office, she has been an advocate for women’s rights, veterans, and strong public schools.
Leader Munson was first elected to the DLCC Board in 2023.
