Chaunté Gilmore

Chaunté Gilmore is a community leader and healthcare professional from Oklahoma City running to flip a seat in the Oklahoma House this fall. Chaunté has dedicated her career to helping others heal and thrive, and her work in healthcare has given her firsthand insight into the gaps in the medical system. Chaunté is committed to making health care more accessible for all Oklahomans, and if she is elected, she will fight for healthcare access, stronger public schools, and economic relief for working families.

In 2024, Chaunté came within 288 votes of victory while running as a DLCC Target Race candidate. Now, she’s back, stronger than ever, to finish the job and flip District 100 blue in November.

2026 brings a historic opportunity to build Democratic power in Oklahoma, where, for years, Republican supermajorities in both chambers of the state legislature have rubber-stamped Trump’s extremist agenda. 

The work of taking back power in red states requires consistent effort, cycle over cycle, seat by seat. The DLCC has been on the ground in Oklahoma, working with state Democrats to identify the most flippable districts, recruit strong Democratic candidates, and protect blue strongholds.

The DLCC is fighting for change in Oklahoma, and it will take sustained support from Democrats nationwide to chip away at Republicans’ grip on power in the state.
