Nebraska is on the DLCC’s 2026 Target Map.

2026 is a critical opportunity to pick up seats in Nebraska and break a Republican-aligned supermajority to preserve Democrats’ federal power. Nebraska is the only nonpartisan and unicameral state legislature in the nation and is one of just two states that award Electoral College votes by congressional district, so it has an outsized role in the path to the presidency and to winning Congress. The DLCC is focused on preserving Omaha’s “Blue Dot” status by flipping at least one seat in the legislature this November.

Republicans are desperate to upend Nebraska’s election system, seize a congressional vote, and rig themselves into a permanent majority before the next presidential election. Democrats can thwart their plans by electing aligned legislators who will fight to preserve Nebraskans’ political power and tackle the issues that matter most to them.
