Mai Xiong

Rep. Mai Xiong is a first-generation American and experienced public servant from Warren running for reelection to the Michigan House this November. Mai was raised in a working-class household, and she knows firsthand how hard it is to stretch every dollar. Because of this, Mai is committed to helping working families get ahead and has introduced legislation to improve health care, support public schools, and bring down the cost of living.

In the spring of 2024, Mai won a landslide special election victory for the Michigan House, then successfully defended her seat in the fall, both times as a DLCC Target Race candidate.

Michigan stands as one of the most critical battlegrounds in the country.

In 2022, Michigan Democrats flipped both chambers of the state legislature for the first time in over a decade, delivering a Democratic trifecta and passing historic legislation that improved the lives of working families across the state.

In 2024, Republicans narrowly retook the Michigan House — but Democrats maintained control of the Senate, keeping the path to a trifecta within reach.

With a one-seat Democratic majority in the Senate and a clear path to reclaim the House, strategic early investment in these races will determine whether Democrats can restore full control and continue delivering results.
