About Chris

Chris Duncan is a San Clemente City Councilmember and former federal prosecutor, running to flip a seat in the California Senate in November. During his time on the San Clemente City Council, Chris has helped establish social worker outreach teams, leading to a dramatic reduction in homelessness, defended women’s right to choose, supported investments in clean energy, and advocated for affordable housing. As a candidate for state Senate, Chris is committed to putting working families first and ensuring every child has the opportunity to grow up in a safe, thriving community.

District 36 could be one of the most competitive elections of the year, and Chris is stepping up, with the DLCC’s support, to flip this battleground district and strengthen the California Senate’s blue majority.

California

2026 is a key opportunity to expand our  Democratic majorities in California.

The sustained efforts of California Democrats and the DLCC have resulted in one of the nation’s strongest defenses against Trump’s extremist agenda. Under Democratic leadership, the California State Legislature has made historic progress on workers’ rights, education funding, renewable energy, health care access, and oversees one of the world’s largest economies and nearly 40 million people.

With the failing Republican agenda and a lack of leadership in Washington, strong blue majorities in the states are essential to protecting our future. It’s critical that we not just hold the line, but continue to strengthen the Democratic firewall in California.
