Leonard Bell

Leonard Bell is a U.S. Navy veteran and dedicated public servant from Manchester running this November to flip a seat in the New Hampshire Senate. During his twenty-year service in the U.S. Navy, Leonard developed deep expertise in personnel management and leadership. After retiring from his military career, Leonard found a new calling at Southern New Hampshire University, where he helped countless veterans transition to civilian life. Through his work, Leonard has forged a reputation as a grounded mentor and steady presence for those in need of guidance. He’s excited to bring his talent for level-headed decision-making to Concord, where he is committed to fighting for policies that uplift New Hampshire’s working families.

In 2024, a Republican flipped District 18 by just 748 votes. Now, Leonard is ready, with the DLCC’s support, to take back this seat and help Democrats grow their power in the New Hampshire Senate.

2026 is a historic opportunity to flip both chambers of the New Hampshire legislature.

Current GOP House and Senate majorities in New Hampshire have used their power to green-light Trump’s disastrous agenda at the state level, pushing attacks on civil liberties and voting rights, gutting public school funding, and turning a blind eye to the affordability crisis squeezing working families from all sides.

Over the last several cycles, the DLCC has helped New Hampshire Democrats win key races and keep majorities within striking distance in 2026. As we approach Election Day, Democrats need a 5-seat gain to win the majority in the state Senate, and a roughly 23-seat gain to win a majority in the 400-seat state House. 

Flipping both chambers would create a powerful firewall protecting Granite Staters from the most harmful aspects of MAGA extremism. With every seat in both legislative chambers on the ballot this year, now is the time to rally behind the most competitive Democratic candidates and send a blue wave across New Hampshire.
