About Megan
Megan Hornbeek Allen is a small business owner, nonprofit leader, and higher education administrator from the Oklahoma City area running to flip a seat in the Oklahoma House this fall. Megan has worked with numerous organizations at the intersection of higher education and nonprofit leadership. She also co-founded an elder care agency with her husband to provide compassionate, dignified support to seniors in her community. Megan believes a legislator’s role is to be a voice for the people, and if elected, she will work to ensure Oklahoma’s working families are heard at the State Capitol.
This year, District 81 offers one of the most competitive opportunities for Democrats to gain ground in the Oklahoma House, and Megan is stepping up to the challenge with the DLCC’s support.
Oklahoma
2026 brings a historic opportunity to build Democratic power in Oklahoma, where, for years, Republican supermajorities in both chambers of the state legislature have rubber-stamped Trump’s extremist agenda.Â
The work of taking back power in red states requires consistent effort, cycle over cycle, seat by seat. The DLCC has been on the ground in Oklahoma, working with state Democrats to identify the most flippable districts, recruit strong Democratic candidates, and protect blue strongholds.
The DLCC is fighting for change in Oklahoma, and it will take sustained support from Democrats nationwide to chip away at Republicans’ grip on power in the state. Now is the time to rally behind Democratic candidates willing to stand up to extremism and pave the way for a brighter future for all Oklahomans.
