Target Race Launch: DLCC Announces Slate of Targets in Maine

2026 is a historic opportunity to build power and expand Democratic majorities in Maine

WASHINGTON—Today, the DLCC announced 19 Target Races in Maine to protect and expand our Democratic majorities in both the House and the Senate. Since flipping the Senate in 2018 and winning full control of the legislature, Democrats in Maine have used their power to pass transformative legislation to make life better for Mainers. From protecting reproductive freedom to lowering the cost of housing, health care, and child care, Democrats in the Maine Legislature have acted as a bulwark against the chaos of the Trump administration.

The DLCC is working directly with the Maine House and Senate caucuses to deliver support and resources for data, research, and direct voter contact. 2026 is a historic opportunity to shift the balance of power across the country and expand Democratic power in Maine. With less than 100 days until Election Day, the DLCC has the Target Map and strategy to meet this moment.
