Release: DLCC Adds to Board Leadership Ahead of Historic Midterm Elections

Democrats are poised to fundamentally shift the balance of power in the states

WASHINGTON— The Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee’s Board of Directors has voted to appoint New Mexico House Speaker Javier Martínez as Vice Chair and Minnesota Senate Majority Leader Erin Murphy as Finance Chair. With the DLCC leading the national strategy to elect more Democrats to state legislatures, these two new officers of the board will help lead the committee to build durable Democratic power all across the country and seize the once-in-a-generation opportunity to make historic gains in the upcoming midterms.

Composed of legislative leaders from across the nation, the DLCC’s Board of Directors is integral to driving the Democratic strategy to win state legislative races and build power at this ballot level nationwide. The members of the board collectively represent and serve on behalf of the interests of the thousands of statehouse candidates and elected state legislators nationwide.

DLCC Chair and New York Senate President Pro Tempore and Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins issued the following statement:
