About Rachel
Rachel Armitage is a native of Oregon’s North Coast region and a former state Senator running to flip a seat in the Oregon Senate this fall. Rachel grew up helping her single mom raise her siblings and knows that working families like hers are often forgotten by politicians who talk a big game. She is deeply rooted in her community and understands the needs of her friends and neighbors. If Rachel is elected, she’s committed to fighting for economic opportunities for working families, critical infrastructure funding, increased access to health care, and affordable housing.
Rachel was appointed to the Oregon Senate in 2022, where she served for one year. Now, she’s mounting a strong campaign to win election to a full term, flip her district blue, and help Democrats build a supermajority in the Oregon Senate.
Oregon
2026 is a historic opportunity to expand Democratic majorities in the Oregon state legislature and establish a blue supermajority in the Oregon Senate.
The DLCC has been on the ground in Oregon cycle after cycle to help build a solid foundation for Democratic governance and protect over 4 million Oregonians from MAGA extremism.
Republicans have delayed critical bills on gun safety, climate protections, and reproductive freedom by denying a quorum. This year, Oregon Senate Democrats only need to gain two seats to establish a two-thirds supermajority capable of enacting important legislation and denying Republicans the opportunity to break quorum.
This November, expanding our power in Oregon is the only way to ensure Democrats can continue delivering for working families on issues such as protecting access to health care and lowering the cost of living.
