James Malone

Sen. James Malone is a public servant from Lancaster County running for reelection to the Pennsylvania Senate this fall. James is driven by a deeply held belief that all people deserve to live with dignity, and as a state senator, he strives to support Pennsylvania’s hard-working families. James champions legislation aimed at lowering the cost of living and expanding access to affordable housing.

James, with the support of the DLCC’s Target Races program, won a shocking upset victory in a 2025 special election for the Pennsylvania Senate, flipping a district that favored Trump by a double-digit margin in 2024. This year, defending James’ seat is a top priority and key to building Democratic power in this chamber.

2026 is a historic opportunity to build power in Pennsylvania by defending our House majority and picking up seats in the Senate.

In 2022, Democrats made gains in the Pennsylvania Senate and flipped the House for the first time in over a decade. The momentum from those wins continued to build through 2025 with a string of special election victories defending a narrow blue majority in the state House, and an astounding upset win in the state Senate that saw Democrats flip a district that supported Trump by a double-digit margin in the 2024 presidential election. 

The DLCC has been on the ground in Pennsylvania cycle after cycle to support state Democrats as we build power in both chambers of the General Assembly.

Pennsylvania remains a true battleground in 2026, and the DLCC and our allies are pulling out all the stops to win competitive races and elect Democrats in the Keystone State.
