Senate: Democratic Majority

House: Democratic Majority

Moving Progress Forward in Oregon.

2026 is a historic opportunity to build a Democratic supermajority in the Oregon Senate.

Democrats need to gain 2 seats to build a supermajority in the Oregon Senate. Building a supermajority would allow Oregon Democrats to override Republican obstruction to defend Oregon families.

Oregon Democrats have fought off an onslaught of GOP spending in 2022 and 2024 to maintain their majorities and Democrats have used their power to protect funding for reproductive health care providers and to pass bills to protect health care access and lower housing costs – an important step in combatting the cost of living crisis exacerbated by Trump and Republicans.

Meet the DLCC’s Oregon Target Races

The DLCC’s Target Races represent some of the most competitive and consequential state legislative contests in the country.

The DLCC is investing early in the candidates and districts where the data shows Democrats can make the biggest gains. By supporting strong campaigns, expanding the map, and competing everywhere possible, we’re building the foundation for a more balanced and representative Oregon statehouse.

DLCC Board Member

Speaker of the House Julie Fahey

Speaker Julie Fahey’s two decades of experience helping businesses support and fairly pay their workers– combined with nearly a decade of service in the legislature–  make her a seasoned advocate for Oregon’s working families. Speaker Fahey’s progressive values and real-world business experience inform her approach to making Oregon a state where workers and employers can thrive with landmark equal pay and paid family leave legislation. A self-proclaimed housing policy nerd, Fahey is now laser-focused on tackling the skyrocketing costs of housing and reducing homelessness. Speaker Fahey made history as Oregon’s youngest woman Speaker and has led the charge to pass transformative policies with tangible impacts that stand in direct contrast to the chaos in Washington.

Speaker Fahey was first elected to the DLCC Board in 2025.
