Moving Progress Forward in Oregon.

DLCC is proud to work with Oregon State Democrats, who wield substantial power to set policy and make progress in a state with more than 4 million people. The Oregon legislature has been on the frontlines of protecting their communities and fighting back against the Trump Administration’s reckless and destructive agenda.

After holding their own to maintain their majorities against an onslaught of GOP spending in 2022, Oregon Democrats have made progress by passing bills to protect health care access, lower housing costs, and protect access to abortion.

2026 is also a historic opportunity to build a Democratic supermajority in the Oregon Senate.

Democrats need to gain 2 seats to build a supermajority in the Oregon Senate. Building a supermajority would allow Oregon Democrats to reach a quorum without any Republicans present. In the past, Republicans have denied a quorum to stall legislation on reproductive freedom and gun safety.

The DLCC will continue to partner with state Democrats to build power and move progress forward in Oregon.

DLCC Board Member

Speaker of the House Julie Fahey

Speaker Julie Fahey’s two decades of experience helping businesses support and fairly pay their workers– combined with nearly a decade of service in the legislature–  make her a seasoned advocate for Oregon’s working families. Speaker Fahey’s progressive values and real-world business experience inform her approach to making Oregon a state where workers and employers can thrive with landmark equal pay and paid family leave legislation. A self-proclaimed housing policy nerd, Fahey is now laser-focused on tackling the skyrocketing costs of housing and reducing homelessness. Speaker Fahey made history as Oregon’s youngest woman Speaker and has led the charge to pass transformative policies with tangible impacts that stand in direct contrast to the chaos in Washington.

Speaker Fahey was first elected to the DLCC Board in 2025.
