Nevada
Senate: Democratic Majority
Assembly: Democratic Majority
Nevada is on the DLCC’s 2026 Target Map.
2026 is a historic opportunity to build a Democratic supermajority in the Nevada Assembly. Democrats need to gain 1 Assembly seat to build a supermajority. In the event GOP Gov. Lombardo is re-elected, building a Democratic supermajority is crucial for Democrats’ ability to override vetoes.Â
Since winning majorities in 2016, Nevada Democrats have used their power to help make life more affordable by lowering the cost of health care. The DLCC invested nearly $2 million in Nevada in 2022 to support Democrats’ efforts to hold onto this chamber in a battleground state.
The DLCC will be targeting competitive races across the state and sharing more info on DLCC Target Races in Nevada soon.

Speaker of the Assembly Steve Yeager
Speaker Steve Yeager brings grit, empathy, and a deep understanding of working families’ challenges to his leadership in the Nevada Assembly. He grew up working in food service, learning the value of hard work early on, and put himself through college with a combination of jobs and student loans. Those experiences continue to inform his efforts to make higher education more affordable for working families across Nevada. Before entering the legislature, Yeager was a public defender, fighting for Nevadans too often overlooked by the system. As Speaker, he has championed policies like paid family leave and minimum wage increases, always standing up for those working hard to build a better life.
