Republicans currently control the Kentucky Legislature but that hasn’t stopped state Democrats from fighting on behalf of their communities. As the campaign arm for more than 3,000 state legislators and thousands of candidates across all 50 states, the DLCC is providing the roadmap for building Democratic power across red, blue, and purple states in 2026 and beyond, including in Kentucky.Â
The DLCC will continue to partner with state Democrats to build power in Kentucky.
Special Election Win
In December 2025, DLCC Target Candidate Gary Clemons overperformed by decisive margins to win a special election to the Kentucky Senate and defend a key seat for Democrats.
