Delaware is on the DLCC’s 2026 Target Map.
Democrats have a strong record of leadership with strong majorities in both chambers that have delivered for the people of the state over and over again. 2026 is a historic opportunity to build a Democratic supermajority in the Delaware House. Democrats need to gain just one House seat to build a supermajority.Â
Democrats are leading the fight for progress in Delaware, working to improve the lives of their constituents and protect against a reckless Republican playbook. Democrats in the state legislature have passed legislation to raise the minimum wage and expanded the free school breakfast program to all students.Â
The DLCC is continuing to work with Delaware state Democrats to ensure Democrats maintain their strong majorities in the state and can continue to lead on behalf of their communities.

So far this cycle, the DLCC has regained majorities in seven chambers and flipped 350 seats from red to blue nationwide. Democrats have also gained six new trifectas. The DLCC invested a record $35 million in our efforts to flip chambers, elect state Democrats, and rebuild the Democratic Party from the ground up.

Delaware Democrats Expand Majorities in State Senate and HouseThe Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee and Delaware Democrats have flipped a seat from red to blue in the state Senate, solidifying a Democratic majority in the chamber and setting margins at 12D - 9R. In the state House, Delaware Democrats also picked up a seat, expanding their supermajority and setting the margins at 26D - 15R.
