Colorado
Senate: Democratic Majority
House: Democratic Majority
Colorado is on the DLCC’s 2026 Target Map.
Just a decade ago, Republicans controlled the majorities in the Colorado legislature but repeated investments and partnership between the DLCC and Colorado Democrats helped flip this state blue. Now,2026 is our historic opportunity to build Democratic supermajorities in the Colorado House and Senate. Democrats need to gain just 3 House seats and 1 Senate seat to build supermajorities.Â
Democrats in Colorado have a strong record of delivering for and fighting for the 6 million people in their state. Ahead of the 2025 federal government shutdown, Democrats in the state legislature passed legislation that protected food benefits and health care access as part of an agenda to bring down the cost of living and increase economic opportunity across the state.
The DLCC will continue to partner with state Democrats to build power in Colorado.

s Coleman is a consensus builder whose leadership has been instrumental in winning durable Democratic majorities in Colorado with a steady record of delivering for the people. With a background in community activism and advocating for non-profits, he’s made it his mission to expand economic opportunity. Senate President Coleman recently became the state’s second-ever Black state Senate president and has since led Colorado’s upper chamber to spur economic growth and make robust investments in education to support the growth of Colorado’s workforce. His ability to deliver on promises to make life more affordable is more important than ever as the Trump administration slashes programs that families have earned and rely on.
