The DLCC recently announced its 2026 strategy and target map to put Democrats on offense on redistricting

WASHINGTON — Indiana Republicans’ gerrymandering schemes just came to a halt as they failed to muster the votes to take power away from voters. The DLCC applauds Indiana Democrats for their fight against the GOP’s anti-democratic agenda, as Trump continues to push Republicans to rig maps across the country to protect their meager U.S. House majority.

The DLCC is focused on building and expanding power in the states, including in Indiana, where breaking the GOP supermajority in the House is a new priority on our 2026 target map to expand state Democrats’ power. Winning the DLCC’s 2026 target map is the strongest path to level the playing field around redistricting, especially ahead of 2030.

Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee President Heather Williams issued the following statement:

“Trump and Republicans’ gerrymandering schemes have backfired as their latest gambit in Indiana failed. Indiana Democrats stood firm in their fight against this GOP power grab designed to silence voters. But redistricting battles are far from over, and state Democrats must continue to fight extreme Republicans across the country who are rushing to rig maps to keep themselves in power. The DLCC is leading the national strategy to win battleground chambers and put the party on offense around redistricting now and in 2030. We won’t allow Republicans to go unchallenged – not in Indiana, not anywhere.”

The Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee (DLCC) is the campaign arm of Democratic state legislatures and leads the national strategy for building power and winning new majorities. Over the last three decades, we have strategized cycle over cycle to win majorities and lead the effort to bring national attention and investment to our ballot level, winning nearly a dozen new chamber majorities over the last decade. Our work has ensured that nearly half of Americans are represented by at least one Democratic majority in their statehouse. State legislatures are the building blocks of our democracy and have the closest connections to Americans’ day-to-day lives. From protecting fundamental freedoms and voting rights to growing the middle class and advancing opportunity, the DLCC and state legislators are moving the Democratic agenda forward and shaping the future of this country.
