Texas Republican House Chair Resigns Position in Disgrace

WASHINGTON — Democrats are adding another tally to their Texodus count — this one at the state level — after the Texas House GOP Caucus Chairman Dustin Barrows announced he was resigning his leadership position in disgrace amid allegations he and the Republican speaker were targeting 10 incumbent members of their own party.

“Texas Republicans are bailing on their congressional districts, running away from the state House, and now leaving their leadership positions in scandal,” DLCC press secretary Matt Harringer said. “The Texodus knows no bounds.”

DLCC Announces Mississippi Spotlight Endorsements

WASHINGTON — As Mississippi gears up for November elections, the Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee is announcing its first round of Spotlight candidates running to break Republican supermajorities in the Magnolia State legislature.

“Democrats are on the offensive in every state — including Mississippi,” said Jessica Post, president of the DLCC. “We have a great candidate for governor in Attorney General Jim Hood and the Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee is working to ensure he has Democratic partners in the state legislature.”
