RELEASE: DLCC Launches Target Races in Indiana

The DLCC is launching a slate of must-win races in Indiana to break the toxic Republican supermajority in the House for the first time in over a decade

WASHINGTON—Today, the DLCC announced our slate of 11 Target Races in the Indiana House as we aim to flip seats and push back against the GOP’s decade-long supermajority. These candidates will run against far-right candidates who will rubber-stamp Trump’s extreme agenda, including gerrymandering. Democrats in the House are just four seats away from breaking the Republican supermajority, which would empower Democrats to block extreme bills in committee by denying a quorum. To seize this opportunity, the DLCC’s Target Races represent the most competitive and promising contests across the state to deliver these wins.

The DLCC is working directly with the Indiana House Democratic Caucus and Target Race candidates to deliver support and resources for data, research, polling, paid communication, and direct voter contact. Democrats in Indiana recently announced their best candidate recruitment this century, with candidates running in 91 out of 100 House districts. As Republican attacks on our democracy intensify, the DLCC has an ambitious Target Map to seize this historic, once-in-a-generation opportunity to shift the balance of power in state legislatures this November.
