BREAKING: State Democrats Celebrate Full Candidate Recruitment in Michigan

Both the Michigan House and Senate are on the DLCC’s 2026 Target Map to win back full control of the legislature

  WASHINGTON — Michigan is the latest state to join the growing list of full state legislative candidate recruitment as the DLCC executes its historic midterm strategy. This November, Democrats are running in all 110 House and 38 Senate districts, contesting every legislative race on the ballot for yet another cycle. This recruitment lays the foundation for Democrats to flip the Michigan House, defend the Senate majority, and rebuild a Democratic trifecta in this competitive battleground state.   Michigan is a top DLCC battleground state in 2026, and the first slate of target races in the state was announced earlier in the cycle than ever before. Strong recruitment in Michigan is the latest display of momentum as Democrats across the country shatter candidate recruitment records, from Texas to Indiana to South Carolina. The DLCC’s investments and resources have supercharged candidate recruitment this cycle through early infrastructure, staffing, and caucus support as we execute on our most ambitious midterm strategy ever.   Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee President Heather Williams issued the following statement:   “The victories this November will belong to those who work for them.
