WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today the Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee announced the launch of its redesigned website, dlcc.org. The updated site showcases DLCC’s mission to elect Democratic state legislative chamber majorities and defeat GOP gerrymandering. The new dlcc.org describes DLCC’s various initiatives, including SCOUT, Grassroots Victory Program, Advantage 2020, and the 2016 Democratic Majorities Project. The website will serve as a hub for activists to speak out on state issues and as a dashboard for supporters and partners to stay up-to-date on the latest statehouse news and analysis. It also features DLCC’s new logo, which is really just terrific.

DLCC Caucus Summit Prepares State Campaigns for Nationwide November Victories

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee Executive Director Jessica Post kicked off the DLCC 2016 Caucus Staff Summit today with an overview of the committee’s 2016 program and a call to action for the campaign professionals gathered from across the country. The three-day training (April 27 – 29) assembles professional caucus staffers in the nation’s capital to hone skills and reinforce best practices in everything from hiring staff and messaging to budgeting and finance to field and polling. One featured session provides a data-driven approach to maximizing Democratic success down-ballot with Donald Trump at the top of the GOP ticket.

New York Democrats Victorious in Special Elections

Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee Executive Director Jessica Post lauded tonight’s Democratic special election wins in the New York state Senate and Assembly. On Tuesday, New York Democrats Todd Kaminsky, Jamie Williams, and Alice Cancel were elected in Senate District 9 and Assembly Districts 59 and 65, respectively.

Maine Democrat Triumphant in Special Election

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee Executive Director Jessica Post lauded tonight’s Democratic special election win in the Maine state Senate. On Tuesday, Maine Democrat Susan Deschambault won the special election in Senate District 32 with 57 percent of the vote. This victory comes on the heels of a series of special election successes in Kentucky and strong Democratic performances in competitive regions in last fall’s legislative general elections in Virginia and New Jersey.

Strategy Update: 2016 Special Elections

Democratic Senator David Dutremble resigned in late January to focus on his health. A special election will be held on March 29 in Senate District 32, which encompasses parts of York County, including the towns of Biddeford, Kennebunk, and Kennebunkport.
