About Stephanie

Rep. Stephanie Hein, a former educator, is running for reelection to the Missouri House in November. In her career as an educator, Stephanie advocated for her students’ futures and helped bridge the gap between education and a flourishing career. As a legislator, she firmly believes that Missouri’s budget should reflect its values and is a fierce advocate for public education and infrastructure funding. If reelected, she will continue to fight for Missouri working families on issues such as education, affordability, and access to health care.

In 2022, Stephanie flipped her district blue as a DLCC Target Race candidate and defended her seat in 2024. Now, she’s ready to bring home another victory and help Democrats gain the ground they need to break the GOP supermajority in the Missouri House.

Missouri

2026 is a historic opportunity for Democrats to gain ground in Missouri, where Republicans currently hold supermajorities in both the state House and Senate.

The GOP has used its unchecked power in the Missouri legislature to rubber-stamp the MAGA agenda at every turn. In 2025, they blatantly rigged the state’s congressional maps to silence voters, and they have doubled down on attacks on reproductive health care despite Missourians explicitly voting to protect their rights.

With only 3 additional seats needed to break the supermajority in the state House and 2 in the state Senate, Missouri Democrats are fighting for every inch of ground. The DLCC has worked with partners in the state to identify the best opportunities for red-to-blue flips and key Democratic seats to defend in November.

Breaking Republican supermajorities in Missouri means protecting critical aspects of democracy, such as ballot initiatives that allow the people to push back directly against far-right extremism. Now is the time to rally behind Democrats in Missouri, and the DLCC is leading the charge.
