WASHINGTON — In the face of Democratic victories across swing states, Republicans are outlining the only winning strategy they have left: severely limiting voting rights. This is nothing new for the GOP. From extreme partisan gerrymandering to cutting back voting rights to attempting to overturn the presidential election, Republicans have always tried to undemocratically change election outcomes when they don’t like the results.

“The Republican strategy to limit and disenfranchise voters is as pathetic as it is undemocratic,” said Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee President Jessica Post. “Strict voting laws overwhelmingly aim to sideline voters that gave President Biden and Senate Democrats their victories: voters of color and young voters. This cynical move is nothing short of an attack on our democracy — something Republicans are growing all too comfortable with.”
