Michael Sargeant, Executive Director
Michael has been at the DLCC since 2001. He previously served as the national political director from 2003 to 2007. Before joining the DLCC, Michael was the director of the Tennessee House Caucus. He has also managed races in New Jersey, California, Michigan, and Missouri. He holds a degree from St. John’s University and is a New Jersey native.
Kevin Boyd, Political Director
Before joining the DLCC in 2011, Kevin spent five cycles with the Iowa House Democrats. Working for Speaker Patrick Murphy, he was the Campaign Director for two cycles and the Deputy Campaign Director for two cycles. He previously had been a campaign manager for two Iowa House races. He started his career helping on municipal races in his hometown, Iowa City. He is a proud Hawkeye and a graduate of the University of Iowa.
Carolyn Fiddler, Communications Director
Prior to joining the DLCC in May of 2010, Carolyn was Director of External Affairs at Media Matters for America. She graduated from the University of Arkansas with a BA in international relations, European studies, and political science, and she received her JD from the College of William & Mary. Prior to law school, she worked for the Democratic Party of Virginia, where she served as Deputy Finance Director and later as Communications Director. During law school, she interned with Virginia Delegate Jim Scott and drew political cartoons for the school paper. Carolyn is a native of Warsaw, Virginia.
Kurt Fritts, Political Director
Kurt joined the DLCC as a political director in 2011 after spending 13 years working in Washington state legislative politics. In 2001, he served as a lead Democratic staffer in Washington's redistricting process, and he then ran the state Senate caucus campaign committee in the 2002 and 2004 election cycles. He also spent five years at Washington Conservation Voters advocating for stronger environmental policies at the state and local level. Immediately prior to joining the DLCC, Kurt spent six months in southern Sudan managing a voter education project in advance of that region's 2011 referendum for independence. As a political director for the DLCC, Kurt will be working directly with a number of caucus programs for which gaining or retaining Democratic majorities are national priorities, including both of those in Oregon.
Elizabeth Gramling, Director of Operations
Lizz joined the DLCC in 2007. Prior to that, she spent two years as the office manager at John Kerry's Senate reelect committee and leadership PAC. She previously worked in the Voter Contact & Targeting Department at the Democratic National Committee. Lizz is from Burlington, New Jersey.
David Griggs, Deputy National Field Director
Dave joined the DLCC in 2010 and hails from Minneapolis, MN. He most recently managed Sen. Tom Bakk's campaign for Governor and has spent several cycles working for the Minnesota DFL's Coordinated Campaign, getting his start in 2002 as a Field Organizer for Sen. Paul Wellstone's reelection bid. Dave is a graduate of New York University and received a J.D. in 2007 from the University of St. Thomas School of Law in Minneapolis.
Megan Hannigan, Finance Director
Megan joined the finance team in 2009, shortly after receiving her B.A. from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. She previously served as the DLCC's Finance Associate as well as Deputy Finance Director. Originally from just across the Potomac in Virginia, Megan has also worked on the Hill in the office of US Senator Sherrod Brown.
Marissa Morabito, Research Director
Marissa joined the DLCC in 2011. She previously worked at a leading state and local government relations firm. Before coming to Washington, Marissa was a Policy Advisor for the Democratic Caucus at the Arizona House of Representatives. She received a letter of appreciation from the Department of Defense for a bill she helped shepherd through the state legislature. Marissa also was a Senior Associate at a Democratic political consulting firm, where she provided strategic guidance on public affairs and issue management to members of Congress, independent expenditure campaigns, public policy groups, and statewide campaigns. In 2004, Marissa worked in Boston as a coordinating intern at the Democratic National Convention. Marissa graduated from Arizona State University with a BA in political science and is a native of Boulder, Colorado.
Adam Phillips, Financial Services Director
Prior to joining the DLCC in 2011, Adam spent seven years working in Iowa politics, most recently as the Finance Director and Deputy Campaign Director for the Iowa House Democrats. He graduated with Bachelor degrees in Finance and Political Science from the University of Northern Iowa. Adam is a native of Lisbon, Iowa.
Jessica Post, National Field Director and Political Director
Before joining the DLCC in 2010, Jessica worked on campaigns at all levels of the ballot in more than 20 states, including a cycle as Deputy Caucus Director for the Minnesota Senate Democratic-Farmer-Labor Caucus. Most recently, Jessica served as Field Director for the Minnesota DFL party Coordinated Campaign for Al Franken and the DFL ticket, through the ensuing recount, and then directed legislative grassroots advocacy programs as a consultant for Anheuser-Busch. A St. Louis area native, and a graduate of Truman State University, Jessica began her career managing a state representative campaign in rural Missouri.
Nathan Thomas, New Media Coordinator
Prior to joining the DLCC in 2009, Nathan worked on the writing staff of the Mack Crounse Group. He is a veteran of the 2008 Iowa Caucuses and later joined the field staff of Louisiana Democrat Don Cazayoux’s successful special election campaign for Congress. Before that, Nathan got his start as an intern for the 2006 congressional campaigns of Nick Lampson and Dan Maffei. Nathan is a native of New Orleans and a graduate of Syracuse University in New York.
John Winston, National Political Director
John oversees the political operations of the DLCC. Prior to joining the DLCC in 2005, he spent nearly a dozen years on the road working on or managing campaigns across the country. He received his Bachelor’s degree from Virginia Commonwealth University and his Master’s degree from George Washington University. John is a native of Richmond, Virginia.
