DLCC interns have a unique opportunity to work to help
Democrats across the country from the nation’s
capital. By working for the DLCC, you can help Democratic
candidates and caucuses while you gain valuable political
experience. The DLCC is currently accepting applications
for its Klindt/Dye Internship program. Please download
the APPLICATION
to apply.
DLCC began the Klindt/Dye Internship, a program offering
a stipend to students interested in state government
and Democratic politics, in 1996. The Klindt/Dye Internship
honors the memory of two people who dedicated their
lives to Democrats in state government. Jenifor Klindt
and Jeff Dye worked to ensure that Democrats won and
maintained positions of leadership in state legislatures.
About the Klindt/Dye Internship
program
Jenifor Klindt was a seasoned veteran in the world of
politics, having championed Democratic causes such as
labor and women’s rights for over twenty years.
An Illinois native, Jenifor managed political operations
for Illinois House Speaker Mike Madigan. In 1993 she
laid the foundations for the Democratic Legislative
Campaign Committee (DLCC). As its first Executive Director,
she adopted innovative and successful techniques for
running political campaigns. The DLCC and the dedicated
campaign workers it produces are her legacy.
Jeff Dye knew almost every angle of a campaign. In
his career, he acted as correspondent, researcher, fundraiser
and campaign manager. He was an enthusiastic employee
in each of his positions, driven by an appreciation
for the critical relationship between grassroots organizing
and federal government and a personal love of politics.
He used his extensive professional background to lead
the Democrats to victory in the Vermont and Tennessee
Senates in 1996.
In memory of Jenifor and Jeff, we establish this internship
to help those who come after them to achieve the same
kind of success.
